we are all pseudo-intellectuals - Anonymous (seriously anonymous)
people consider themselves to be intellectuals if they can form a view about something put forward to them. Something which is logical does not have to be practical. they measure their intellect by the ability to come up with a counter-argument to something that is said. that is not intellect. true intellect enables you to take in all all that is possible and come up with a conclusion. you cannot put forth your point first and then give counter-arguments to any point put against it. that is idiotic at the least. lying to yourself. for example if someone puts forth a point that they do not like studying, a counter argument that even teachers don't like teaching is flawed. because you have completely missed the crux of the statement. the point of the statement was that it was the person's personal preference. you cannot simply generalize it and put forward a point against it. its stupidity.this is one such example. its very easy to identify pseudo-intellectuals. they will have a point about everything under the sun. give them a topic. and they will rant about it so passionately like they have indeed given this years of thought. let alone years they wouldn't even have given it a minutes thought. also they will tend to weave all their points around one single thought/concept that is going around in their mind, for eg.freedom. they are actors, who put forward a face, that is just a projection of how they want the world to perceive them as. Empty words. fickle minded.
"i want the world to see me as the most kickass person alive. hence i will put forward a apt face and act for them."
RIP Robin Williams.
and yes there are a lot of pseudo-intellectual thoughts going around about Robin Williams. I can bet most of the people only remember him as that guy in Jumanji.
